About Me

*The opinions expressed within this blog are my own and do not necessarily represent the opinion or views of anyone else.*

Now that that’s out of the way… Here are some random facts about me in no particular order.

I spent the last 13 years working at McLean Bible Church, a multisite church in the DC metro area.  I worked at our MBC Tysons campus, at MBC Prince William, with Frontline, and even back at our Balls Hill location. Getting to be a part of the tremendous growth of the church was an incredible honor. I made so many incredible friends and learned so much about God, His son, and the power of community.

Right now I’m working with the amazing team at The Newfangled Project on the launch of OurShow, a Christian webseries aimed at tweens, while also I figure out what the next step God has planned for me is.

I am mom to two lab-mixes, Zoe and Abby. They’re hilarious.

I was a synchronized swimmer in college. Don’t laugh, it’s a lot harder than it looks. I also swam IM and backstroke.

I went to Cambodia in 2007. It changed my life. Did you know there are more people in slavery now than at any other point in history? Meeting 6 year olds who have just been rescued from the brothel that they were enslaved in is something I’ll never forget.

I’m a survivor of 2 parental divorces. I love all the different branches of my family. My stepmother rocks, even if she’s not married to my dad any more. I have lots of opinions on divorce from the kids’ perspective, hence “The Rules”.

I’m slowly considering myself a writer. It still feels weird to say that.

I’m an extroverted introvert. I love connecting with people and amazed at how I’ve been able to connect with people all over the country in the past year or so.

I love storytelling in many forms – music, tv, movies, books, blogs, etc.

Hugs from kids are the best. Seriously.

I suffered from anorexia throughout high school and college. You can read more here.

I love to laugh, which is handy when working with artists.

I’ve recently discovered how much I love working with teenagers. They have such passion about everything.

I love hearing from y’all, so feel free to comment on any post!
